Emily Ratajkowski is facing major backlash after accusing Blue Origin of “destroying the planet” — with fans pointing out her own history of taking private jets.

The 33-year-old model and actress spoke out after the space travel company sent a star-studded, all-female crew into space on Monday.

Among those aboard were singer Katy Perry, CBS Mornings presenter Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, astronaut and bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Jeff Bezos’s partner Lauren Sanchez.

While the majority was celebrating the history-making accomplishment, Ratajkowski raged on TikTok, calling the feat “disgusting” and compared it to Hunger Games, the book and movie series where citizens must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains.

Fans quickly called Ratajkowski out on social media for her overreaction, accusing her of hypocrisy.

She was condemned as “a hypocrite who rides on a private jet.”

After a news outlet published a story featuring the model’s reaction, one commenter said: “Did you see all the pics floating around today of @emrata photographing herself boarding private jets? Hypocrite trash.”

Another fan posted: “So only [she] is allowed to overanalyze other people? As if we don’t see the damage she does to the environment with all her jet trips and the consumerism she sells.”

After the space flight, Emily shared her criticism of Blue Origin in a selfie-style video filmed in a car.

She said, “That space mission this morning? That’s end time s—. Like, this is beyond parody. That you care about Mother Earth and it’s about Mother Earth, and you’re going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s singlehandedly destroying the planet?”

In her TikTok post, she continued to rant: “Look at the state of the world, and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space, and for what? For what, what was the marketing there? And then to try to make it like … I’m disgusted. Literally, I’m disgusted.”

Meanwhile, the pioneering crew had their own thoughts,

“We’ve had some cranky Yankees and haters,” King said. “I’ve heard you. I’m not going to let you steal our joy, but most people are really excited and cheering us on and realize what this mission means to young women, young girls and boys, too.”

Bowe — a former NASA engineer who was on board today’s New Shepard flight — said: “I wish those who are criticizing the mission could read the messages in my inbox.”

The New Shepard NS-31 mission, operated by Bezos’ aerospace company, was watched live by millions around the globe.

The historic journey involved an ascent into space in a self-flying rocket, four minutes of weightlessness, and a swift — and safe — return to Earth.
